White Rocks Inn
Bed and Breakfast
Welcome to White Rocks Inn, where you will experience the warmth and charm of Old Vermont
on a historic dairy farm.
This is a Vermont bed and breakfast at its best, the way you always dreamed it would be. Located on the historic Ethan Allen Highway, the farm beckons with the architecture of its elegant Greek Revival farmhouse and landmark Gothic barn. This idyllic pastoral scene in the heart of the Otter Creek Valley, nestled between two mountain ranges, has offered escape to travelers since 1983.
Today this historic New England country inn is a favorite for travelers seeking the best in elegance, history, and romance. White Rocks Inn is a destination for fine dining, with an award winning restaurant practically at your doorstep in the quaint New England village of Wallingford, VT. Your stay might include a romantic getaway package or a tour of Vermont covered bridges.
The White Rocks Inn offers spectacular views of the Green Mountains—the bleached boulders of the White Rocks Recreation Area cascading down the hillside. Every season brings abundant wildlife to the farm—deer, wild turkeys, Canada geese, ducks, and golden eagles.
We are located on Route 7, almost halfway between Manchester and Rutland, Vermont.
Proceed to your bed chamber to settle into your private retreat, lovingly decorated with family heirlooms and collected antiques to reflect the genteel lifestyle of the mid-1800's
All of the 5 bedchambers in the main house are named for former owners and residents throughout its history as a working farm from the 1830's to the 1970's. Our private cottages, The Milkhouse and The Nest, derive their names from their original functions of cooling and storing fresh milk, and providing a place for the hens to nest and stay warm.
All rooms and cottages include:
Cottages also include:
Spa-style robes – fluffy terry in cooler months and cool waffle weave in summer
Free wireless internet access
Access to guest refrigerator, iron and ironing board, cordless guest phones, wine glasses and opener
Coffee, tea, sugar, creamer
The charm of the past is carefully coupled with the comforts of the present by offering private baths, air conditioning and fireplaces. Indulge in the romance of a canopy bed or sleigh bed and the comfort of a bountiful Vermont country breakfast served by candlelight in the gracious dining room or on the porch on warm summer mornings.
Guests are greeted by a glowing fire in the Asher Benjamin library on wintry days or fresh flowers from the garden in summer. In cooler weather, guests gather in the library by the fire to share stories of the day's adventures and enjoy late afternoon snacks and tea before setting off for dinner.
Awake to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee served for your early morning enjoyment.
Our Vermont country breakfast features a gourmet entree such as the inn's signature dish Eggs Dijon or our famous Stuffed French Toast, along with breakfast meats, home baked items, Vermont maple syrup, fresh fruits, chilled juice and coffee or tea. Enjoy some of our favorite breakfast recipes here at the inn. Join us for afternoon snacks and beverages.
